The Steve Cook Band has been performing locally since 1986. The roots of the band go back another 15 years. The origins can be recalled in bands such as the Butte Creek Family Band, Ra Moon, Prairie Biscuit, Road Raisin, and Spark & Cinder.

In 1995 The Steve Cook Band released its first CD, "Deep Waters." It is a collection of mostly oringinal material penned by Stevie. The disc covers many styles ranging from straight ahead Rock to New Age acoustic music.
